Not everything will work on your calendar in India but, in my experience, all of it does work. Like the traffic, India operates on it is own inner logic. There are times like on the trains where you might be asked for I.D. With your passport tucked away, it is handy to have a driving license available. Travel Agents - It appears that Internet cafes and the like will set themselves up as travel agents with no official status. In one case I was charged 60 rupees per train booking, in another 100 rupees. Ask for a pick up - this seemed to work 50% of the time.
When booking your reservation, ask for a pick up from the train station if that is how you are arriving. Buildings in India are made of material like marble that bounces sound around. Hot Water - in many spending budget hotels you need to turn on the boiler about fifteen minutes before you want warm water.
